It's now gathering dust on the shelf and will eventually be dumped off eBay. Sure, the B800 is a self-contained unit which makes it very convenient, but it has only one purpose. It's now on my to-do list, right after the big one: replace transmission. I still couldn't reset my airbag because there apparently are some mandatory component issues that need to be addressed and cannot be ignored (reseting may temporarily clear the codes, but since the system is constantly monitoring these components any issues with them will immediately result in errors being regenerated). Best investment made as I was also able to use the tool to reset error codes that disabled the transmission when an oil cooler line popped off. Free shipping offered, but would take several weeks to potentially months, so I opted for the $25 one-week delivery. The owners manual for the reset tool clearly mentions: Note: the SRS system on your BMW needs to be functioning properly in order to reset the airbag/SRS light. When I started experiencing a persistent SES light that the dealer seemed to always mis-diagnose, I decided to look into more robust ODB-II tools for the BMW and came across BMW Scanner 1.4 bundled with the "knock-off" scan tool interface at xcar360 for $34. My tool is not to trick the airbag system, it is just to reset the airbag light after a fault has been repaired. I'm one of those that, new to the later model BMW's (I had 1993 318i before), wasn't aware of all the low-cost ODB-II diagnostic tools out there and needing to reset my airbag warning light, I opted for the B800 off Amazon at $24 shipped didn't cure my ailments.
